INDiPCB is a brand of Smartimate and At Smartimate, we value your privacy and the security of your intellectual property. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide to us through our website and engineering services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better engineering services and software solutions to our clients.

A. Personal Information

When you request a quote or contact us, we may collect:

  • Name and Job Title
  • Company Name
  • Email Address and Phone Number
  • Billing and Shipping Addresses

B. Technical & Project Data

Given the nature of our business (Hardware & Software Engineering), we often collect:

  • Project specifications and requirements files.
  • CAD files, Gerber files, and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
  • Source code repositories and API credentials provided for integration.
  • Device logs and telemetry data during testing phases.

2. Intellectual Property (IP) Protection

We understand that your engineering data is your competitive advantage. Smartimate is committed to strict IP protection protocols:

  • Non-Disclosure: We are happy to sign a Mutual NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) before receiving any sensitive technical files.
  • Data Isolation: Project files are stored in secure, access-controlled environments.
  • Ownership: You retain full ownership of all custom hardware designs, firmware, and software code we develop for you, upon full payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To process quotes and orders for PCB manufacturing and assembly.
  • To communicate project milestones and engineering queries.
  • To improve our internal prototyping processes and software frameworks.
  • To comply with legal obligations and tax regulations.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. However, to deliver complete hardware products, we may share necessary technical data with trusted partners:

  • Manufacturing Partners: PCB fabrication houses and assembly plants (strictly for production purposes) — see section 5 below.
  • Logistics Providers: Shipping companies to deliver prototypes and final products.
  • Cloud Services: Hosting providers (e.g., AWS, Azure) if we are deploying software infrastructure on your behalf.
  • Payment Providers: Payment gateways that process your transaction. We never store your card details.
  • Legal and Regulatory Authorities: Where we are required to disclose information by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.

5. Manufacturing Partners and Your Design Files

Some orders are fabricated, assembled or finished by manufacturing partners rather than on our own production line. This happens where a board is outside our in-house capability (for example higher layer counts, finer features, specialised materials or finishes), where you have selected a faster fabrication option than our own schedule allows, or where partner capacity lets us meet your chosen lead time.

Where that applies, we transmit to the partner only the data needed to build and deliver your order:

  • Your design and manufacturing files — Gerber and drill files, and for assembly orders the Bill of Materials (BOM), pick-and-place data and any assembly drawings.
  • For 3D printing, your mesh file (STL/OBJ/3MF) and the print parameters you selected.
  • The build specification (dimensions, layer count, material, thickness, soldermask, silkscreen, surface finish, quantity and required date).
  • Where a partner ships directly to you, the delivery name, address and contact number needed to complete the shipment.

We do not send manufacturing partners your account credentials, payment details, order history, or any personal information beyond what a given partner needs for the task described above.

Some manufacturing partners are located outside India, so your design files may be transferred to and processed in another country. Where we make such a transfer we do so to perform the contract you have entered into with us — that is, to manufacture and deliver the order you placed.

We place the following conditions on every manufacturing partner we use:

  • They may use your files only to produce your order, and for no other purpose.
  • They are bound by confidentiality obligations, whether under our agreement with them or their own published terms.
  • They must not resell, publish, or share your design with any other party, or use it to manufacture boards for anyone else.
  • They must not use your design to train models, build libraries, or create derivative designs.

Using a manufacturing partner does not change who owns your design. You retain full ownership of your files at all times — see section 2 above, and the Intellectual Property section of our Terms of Service.

You can ask us to build your order in-house only, or to route it away from a specific partner. Tell us before you pay, or contact us immediately afterwards. We will confirm whether we can do so, and what it means for your price and lead time — for some specifications we may not be able to accept the order at all on that basis. You can also ask us to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before you send us anything.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption, firewalls, and secure access protocols, to protect your personal and technical data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
